Mahatma Gandhi Foundation

Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, Gujrat, India. He spent his life working for the cause of freeing India from the clutches of British rule, by using noble means and principles of non-violence and satyagrah. On 15 August 1947, he and his followers forced the British to leave India. Rightfully, he is called the father of the nation. His full name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He is known as Mahatma, meaning 'great soul', because of his work on non-violence, satyagrah and selfless service to his people. Please be patient as this site is under construction. I am an elementary school student, and am learning about Mahatma Gandhi while at the same time learning about technology. Feel free to forward any URLs that you would like to be linked from here
